Dye-sublimation is a printing process that uses heat to fuse special ink directly into fabric. Unlike screen printing where ink sits on top of the material, dye-sublimation makes the design part of the fabric itself—resulting in prints that are soft to the touch and won't crack, peel, or fade over time.
With proper care, essentially forever. The ink bonds permanently with the polyester fibers, so colors stay vibrant through regular washing and sun exposure. Your design will last as long as the garment itself.
Screen printing lays ink on top of fabric, which can crack or peel over time. Dye-sublimation infuses ink into the fibers, creating a softer feel and more durable print. It also allows for unlimited colors and photographic detail that screen printing can't achieve.
Dye-sublimation works best on polyester or poly-blend fabrics in light colors. It's less effective on 100% cotton and won't show vibrant color on dark fabrics. For the materials we offer, you'll get exceptional results—but it's worth knowing the science behind it.
We accept PNG, JPEG, SVG, AI, EPS, and PDF files. For the sharpest results, vector files are ideal—but high-resolution raster images work great too.
300 DPI minimum at the final print size. Higher is always better. Avoid images pulled from social media, screenshots, or low-res web downloads—they'll appear pixelated when printed.
Our platform is built for self-service design using Robert Gould's curated photography. If you need additional support with layout or file preparation, reach out and we'll see how we can help.
Our design tool shows a real-time preview of your creation. If an image is too low-resolution, we'll flag it before you checkout. When in doubt, bigger files are better.
Machine wash cold, inside out, on a gentle cycle. Use mild detergent and skip the bleach. Air drying is ideal, but tumble dry on low heat works too. Your prints are durable—just treat them kindly.
No. Because the ink is fused into the fabric (not printed on top), there's nothing to crack or peel. Colors stay vibrant wash after wash, even with regular sun exposure.

We work hard to ensure accurate color reproduction, but slight variations can occur between screens and printed fabric. If something seems significantly off, send us photos and we'll review your case. Your satisfaction matters to us.
It's one of the more sustainable printing methods. Dye-sublimation uses water-based inks, produces minimal waste, and prints on-demand—so we're not creating excess inventory. That said, polyester does contain synthetic materials. We're continuously exploring more sustainable fabrics and practices.
